Our microtec microabrasives produced using an elutriated manufacturing process. This involves embedding multiple fine layers of abrasive grit in the resin binder, applying them to a flexible polyester film.
All grits made with this process meets the CIS standard (Calibration for Industrial Standards), which stipulates that each grain is not allowed to exceed the nominal size in terms of width and, also, nominal size in height.
Consistent, reproducible machining can be ensured only by both sizes controlled.

SIA Microtec PSA-backed discs are precision microfinishing abrasives developed for the optical and electronics industry.
But can be used to flat lap or polish just about anything. Full range of very fine, very accurate film backed abrasives designed for producing exceptionally close tolerance on polished surfaces and hard materials.
Precisely graded AO (Aluminium Oxide) abrasive particles are adhered to the film which is then coated with a resin that locks the abrasive particles in and prevents grit transfer when moving through the grades.
The reverse side is coated with heavy duty pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA).
