Rust Remover Dip is liquid formulation for removing rust. - Inhibits further oxidisation creating a barrier. It is suitable for use on ferrous metals, brass, copper and bronze. 

Rust Remover Dip removes surface rust from mild steel and iron products. Ideal for use on garden gates, cars, bicycles, screws and all metal objects. Can be used for cleaning copper, bronze and chrome using steel wool.

Before applying Rust Remover Dip, wipe and degrease the surface, remove loose rust with a wire brush, steel wool or even better with non-wowen abrasives. Old and flaking paint, which may be hiding rust, should be removed with paint stripper. Apply the Rust Remover Dip with a brush and let it act until the rust dissolves (a color change from brown to gray), removing diluted rust with steel wool or non-woven handpad or wire brush. If rust is thick, repeat the process. Small items may be cleaned by immersion. Phosphoric acid based solution is not only removes the rust, but also creates an thin protective film. But if due to the steel composition the rust reappears, we suggest clean again wit Rust Remover Dip, clean with distilled water and acid free detergent, rinse well and dry with hair dryer and / or then neutralize cleaned surface with sodium bicarbonate 5% solution and rinse well and dry with hair dryer. Before varnishing - wipe with pure alcohol. Clean brushes with water.

It can also be used to degrease and clean most metal surfaces prior to colouring with Birchwood & Casey Cold Patination, Liberon Iron Paste or paint.
